Sediqa Mushtaq, a women’s rights activist from Afghanistan, has been awarded the honorary title of “Ambassador of Rule of Law” by the International Rotary Association of Italy in a ceremony held in the country. The award recognizes her persistent and courageous efforts in defending human rights, especially the rights of Afghan women and girls.

Mushtaq shared the news on her social media page, stating that she received the award on Friday, April 11 (Hamal 22), during an official event in Italy.

In her speech at the ceremony, she said:

“This honor does not belong to me alone; it belongs to all the women in Afghanistan who are fighting for the right to education, freedom, and equality.”

Rotary Italy, through this award, has acknowledged Sediqa Mushtaq’s fight against gender discrimination and her efforts to promote justice and the rule of law in a society where women are deprived of their most basic rights.

The “Ambassador of Rule of Law” award is presented by Rotary Italy to individuals who have made a significant impact in promoting justice, ethics, and the rule of law in their communities.
