On the inaugural World Day of Hope, the UN Human Rights Office awarded the 2025 High Note Award to the song “We Believe in Hope”, performed by Afghan artist Ariana Saeed.

The song — celebrating human rights, unity, and women’s empowerment — was composed by Jeff Beal and Ariana Saeed, with lyrics by Joan Beal and performed with the Brooklyn Youth Chorus.

Reacting to the award, Ariana said: “Music has always been my form of resistance, and we will not stay silent until justice prevails.”

Inspired by the story of Afghanistan’s all-girls robotics team, the song also features as the theme for the film Lawbreakers and was dedicated to the UN’s human rights mission.
