On August 15, Afghan migrants in Canada held a demonstration marking the anniversary of the collapse of the republic and the return of Taliban rule. Protesters raised their voices against the ongoing human rights violations in Afghanistan, particularly the suppression of women, ethnic and religious minorities, and civil activists. They called on the international community—and especially the Canadian government—not to remain silent in the face of what they described as “gender apartheid” and systematic oppression under Taliban rule, urging stronger support for Afghan refugees and democratic movements.
